Discover the award-winning beaches in 2024
A few days ago, the list of beaches that have received the Blue Flag award in 2024 was published. As you may know, this distinction recognizes the quality of beaches based on a series of parameters that are reviewed annually. These include water quality, environmental management, services and safety measures, and the information and environmental education initiatives organized by the local council.
Interestingly, and because we know it can cause confusion, it is not mandatory for a beach to have showers to receive this award; in fact, the program itself advises against it primarily because it represents a significant consumption of freshwater.
Spain, among the 52 countries where the Blue Flag is present, has the highest number of beaches with this award. In 2024, there are 638 Spanish beaches where the Blue Flag will be flown. Today we bring you a list of the Spanish coastal beaches that have obtained this distinction for the first time in 2024.
